The Charity Calendar
Much like the advent calendars in many European countries, the American Charity Calendar is an exquisite piece of artwork (13” x 16”) displaying twenty-five small perforated “windows”, labeled with each day’s date, starting with December 1st and ending on the 25th.
Behind each of the hidden “windows”, is an illustration that relates to each day’s corresponding online fictitious Winter Holiday Fairytale.
The 2010 Holiday fictional story written by 25 writers in the style of "relay" writing.
Each year we have a brand new Holiday story to match our Charity Calendar. We invite different writers to come up with a story in the relay-writing style; The first writer starts the story and passes it on to the next writer who then comes up with chapter 2 - and so forth. The exceptional combination of writer's voices will add magical spontaneity, and always has surprising twists and turns keeping the reader captivated each day.
The 1st chapter of the 2010 Holiday fictional story will be published online, the first day of December on and conclude on December 25. The theme of the story is "The Magic of the Winter Holidays" and the name of the story will be announced around December 1st, 2010.
